Living
My wife Sara and I married in February 2007 and moved to 11 beautiful acres in the Willamette Valley near the small town of Yamhill, OR in June 2009. Our trusty Blue Heelers, Stone and Sol, keep us smiling and the place quite lively.

Sara and I moved here from sunnier places like Santa Fe, NM and Salt Lake City, UT in order to live, we hope, a greener, more sustainable and self-reliant lifestyle. To that end we have built a small, passive solar “green” home and garden. All this is quite new to us, and is exciting.
Our newest project “on the farm” is the building of The Garden Center, Sara’s new office. Sara is a psychologist specializing in children zero to five, as well as supporting adults in work/life healing and transition. After several years of work sabbatical, in 2012 she will launch her new business from The Garden Center, integrating psychology, her work with nature and the garden in supporting healing in children and adults.
Sara and I are avid motorcycle riders, sport touring in the Pacific Northwest. We both ride BMW motorcycles and relish the wind in our hair on our forays near and far. We also greatly enjoy the outdoors, including hiking and cross country skiing.
In short, life on the farm is good. And each of us grows stronger together and individually.
I write about life on the farm with Sara at my blog Eleven Acre Farm. You can view and/or subscribe at www.elevenacrefarm.wordpress.com.
